Newlyweds Killed Less Than 48 Hours After Their Wedding

Note: We are republishing this story which originally made the news in October 2021.

What was meant to be the beginning of a beautiful life together ended in unimaginable tragedy for a young couple from Tennessee. Just 48 hours after exchanging vows, Jessiah Plemons and Lily Rose were killed in a devastating car accident alongside their close friend, Madison Davis.

The crash occurred in the early hours of October 17, 2021, on an interstate exit ramp in Knoxville, Tennessee. According to authorities, the group’s pickup truck became disabled on the side of the road around 3 a.m. After pulling over, all three individuals exited the vehicle and were standing beside it when another pickup truck approached the ramp.

Tragically, the second vehicle struck the group, killing all three at the scene. Emergency responders arrived quickly but were unable to save them.

The young couple had only been married two days prior and were still soaking in the joy of their new life together. Friends and family described Jessiah and Lily as deeply in love and full of dreams for the future. Madison Davis, a close friend who had been celebrating with them, was remembered as a kind and loyal companion.

The loss shocked the local community and drew national attention as the heartbreaking details emerged. What was supposed to be the happiest time of their lives became a moment of immense sorrow and pain for those who knew and loved them.

Investigators examined the circumstances of the crash, including visibility, speed, and potential impairment, though no public criminal charges were confirmed in the initial reports.

The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of how fragile life can be and how quickly joy can turn to grief. For the families left behind, the pain of losing three young lives—especially just days after such a joyful celebration—is immeasurable.

In memory of Jessiah, Lily, and Madison, friends and loved ones gathered days later to hold a vigil, lighting candles and sharing stories to honor the vibrant lives that were cut short far too soon.

Their story continues to resonate, reminding others to cherish every moment and to take caution on the roads—no matter the time of day.
