California Mom Found Dead Minutes After Seeing Ex, Twin Toddlers Safe but Community in Shock

Santa Rosa, California — A tragic incident has left the community reeling after 38-year-old Mari Bonnici was found dead on her couch shortly after an encounter with her ex-partner. The discovery of her 1-year-old twin daughters in a nearby room added to the heartbreaking scene. Fortunately, the children were unharmed.

Authorities report that the suspect, identified as Jeremy Lyle, an off-duty Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy and Bonnici’s former partner, allegedly handed one of the children to a neighbor before fleeing the scene.
